Episode Recap:
Kore is still trying to keep from drowning and Xander swoops in threatening to leave her out there, watching to see how much longer before her strength fails and she dies. Kore has got strength in spades though because she’s literally unconscious at the time. Xander is mostly worried his performance won’t be thoroughly appreciated because she’s half awake, but when he tries to take her to safety, she’s still got the strength to resist and clings onto that rock like a barnacle. Xander is unimpressed, because he is literal magic superpowers infinity and she’s as fragile as a teacup to him. But as the waves batter them back and forth, he reveals an unexpectedly compassionate side, & then wonders what she would have done if he hadn’t been there to rescue her. Kore comes lucid enough to thank him. Xander reverts back from that brief brief moment of compassion to a. reveal that he’s telepathic & b. drags her out of the ocean and into the sky. Yeah, Kore does not stay conscious for that kind of g-forces and Xander lands them by the car, tenderly carrying her. Then he stuffs her in the trunk, slams the lid, and goes to wait for Grant to get there with Shane, all the while the love bug is biting away at his heart.
Synopsis:
Aging telepath Evil Overlord Xander has traded his youthful dream of joining the US military and using his superpowers to benefit humanity for over-the-hill cynicism, self-imposed exile on his private zoo-for-crazy-people Eynhallow Island, and a serious case of May-December midlife crisis. And technically it's only kidnapping if she tries to leave.
